Ingredients of Authentic Punjabi Red Beans N Rice

  1. Prepare of Red beans/ kidney beans/Rajma.
  2. Prepare of mediumTomatoes (Pureed).
  3. It’s of ginger minced.
  4. Prepare of Garlic crushed/finely chopped.
  5. It’s of Onion medium size,chopped finely.
  6. You need of oil.
  7. It’s of turmeric powder.
  8. Prepare of Kashmiri Red chilli powder.
  9. It’s of asfeotida.
  10. Prepare of garam masala(optional).
  11. It’s of Salt.
  12. It’s of Fresh Chopped Cilantro to Garnish.

Authentic Punjabi Red Beans N Rice instructions

  1. Wash and Soak Beans for 8 hours..
  2. In the Pressure Cooker add oil,hing chopped onions. Saute till pinkish brown.Add ginger and garlic.Keep stirring..
  3. Add Tomato Puree and let it cook till the oil start seperating from masala..
  4. Add chilli powder,Salt turmeric powder and garam masala..
  5. The bright red oil will separate. Add Red beans to it.Add 3 cup water..
  6. Keep at high for a whistle and them on medium/low flame for 20 minutes..
  7. Open the lid of Pressure Cooker. *With the help of laddle mash a table spoon of Rajma.This will thicken the gravy..
  8. With Open lid,let it simmer for 5 minutes at low flame..
  9. Red Beans are Ready,Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with Jeera Rice/Steam Rice..
